This Privacy Policy explains how Dellanave Imports (“I,” “me,” or “my”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit dellanave.com or buy my olive oil. I’m a small business based in Minnesota, and I keep my approach to your data simple: I collect what I need to fulfill your order, and I don’t sell your personal information.
1. Information I collect
Information you give me:
Order information: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and billing and shipping addresses.
Account information: your login credentials and your order and subscription history when you create an account.
Payment information: payment is handled by Stripe. I do not see or store your full card number.
Communications: anything you send me by email, form, or message.
Information collected automatically:
Your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring website.
Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
2. How I use your information
Process, ship, and support your orders
Manage your account and subscription, including quarterly shipments and billing
Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and subscription reminders
Respond to questions and handle returns or refunds
Send occasional news and offers about the olive oil, if you’ve opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
Prevent fraud and keep the site secure
Understand how the site is used and improve it
Meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements
3. Who I share it with
I don’t sell your personal information, and I don’t share it for advertising. I share information only with service providers who help me run the business, and only as needed to perform their services:
Payment processors (Stripe)
Shipping carriers and fulfillment services ([e.g., USPS & UPS])
Website hosting and e-commerce platform providers (ShipStation)
Email and communications providers (Kit)
Analytics providers (e.g. but not limited to: Google Analytics)
I may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect my rights or the safety of others, or if the business is sold or transferred (in which case your information would go to the new owner, subject to this policy).
4. Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar tools to keep you logged in, remember your cart, and understand site traffic. I use Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics for analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking some may affect features like your cart or login.
I honor browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where technically feasible. Because there’s no uniform standard, the site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
5. How long I keep your information
Order and transaction records: indefinitely, for tax and accounting purposes
Account information: until you ask me to delete your account
Email marketing lists: until you unsubscribe
Analytics data: 26 months, or per your analytics setting
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Confirm and access the personal information I hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your personal information (subject to records I must keep for legal reasons)
Obtain a copy of your information in a portable format
Learn which third parties I’ve disclosed your personal information to (Minnesota residents have a right to a list of specific third parties)
Opt out of the sale of your data, targeted advertising, or profiling (I do none of these)
Question the results of any profiling I use and ask for the data behind it (I don’t use profiling)
I’m honoring these rights for all of my customers, regardless of where you live.
To make a request, email me at david@dellanave.com with the subject line “Privacy Request”. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. I’ll respond within 45 days. If I need more time, I’ll tell you why and may extend by up to another 45 days.
Appeals. If I decline your request and you disagree, reply and tell me you want to appeal. I’ll review it and respond in writing within 45 days, with an explanation. If you’re still not satisfied, Minnesota residents may contact the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office at ag.state.mn.us.
7. Sensitive information
I don’t knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health data, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, or government ID numbers), and I will never sell it.
8. Marketing emails
If you’ve opted in to hear from me, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by writing to david@dellanave.com. Even if you unsubscribe, I’ll still send necessary transactional messages, such as order confirmations and subscription notices.
9. Security
I use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and I rely on reputable providers for payment and hosting. No system is perfectly secure, though. If a data breach affecting your information occurs, I’ll notify you as required by applicable law.
10. Children’s privacy
My site is not directed to children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given me personal information, contact me and I’ll delete it.
11. Other U.S. states
Residents of California and other states with consumer privacy laws may have additional rights. You’re welcome to submit a request using the process in Section 6, and I’ll honor it to the extent required by your state’s law.
12. Third-party links
The site may link to other websites (for example, articles I reference). I’m not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when changes were last made. For material changes, I’ll notify account holders by email.
