You’ve got to be kidding me.

You people are idiots.

Newest Member of My Family

Say hi to the newest member of our family, Franklin. This little monster is an 8.5 week old teddy bear puppy, which is a Shih-Tzu and Bichon mix. He’s pretty furry. My girlfriend and I picked him up yesterday and he’s already totally comfortable in our house.

I See in HD

I finally got glasses. I can see so much better now. I don’t need to wear them all the time, but when I do it’s like seeing in HD. If you are questioning your eyes like I did for over a year GO get them checked. Go somewhere good though. I went to a local optical shop and they said I was 20/20. I went to Mayo Clinic and their expensive machine noted that I definitely needed a minor correction. I was having a really hard time with blues and greens at distances.

Anyway, I see in HD.

PS. Check out this site for cheap glasses. (not affil)

I’m a Data Junkie

I wish I could collect data on everything around me. I just moved into the new house and I’ve experienced the joys of having a lawn to take care of. Problem is, it wasn’t watered enough during early June and there are some brown areas. I’ve been trying to hit it hard with the sprinkler system, but I’m never really sure if I’m watering too much or too little.

I’ve been looking at getting one of these a Davis Vantage Pro weather station. The cool thing is you can add a soil moisture sensor and pin down exactly what the moisture situation is. The other cool thing is you can add the station to Weather Underground.

I’m pretty blown away by what they run $$$ though. I need to spend $1k to monitor my lawn like I need a hole in the head.

Late to the Party Part 6, I discover Del.icio.us

So I know I’m late to the party. Really late. I was cleaning up my desk the other day in preparation to move, and I found this fantastic article about olive oil sitting on my desk. My Dad had given it to me, and I wanted to save it but I didn’t want this thing floating around my life for the next few years. And then it hit me. I should store this in the cloud, and I can probably find it online. 2 seconds later I had the article on my screen. Now what…. in Reader I star stuff that I want to save to go back to some day, but that wouldn’t work for this.

That was the lightbulb moment. OK, now I get del.icio.us. I finally created an account and have slowly started to add interesting things I remember or have found to it. I know I’m a late bloomer on this one, but I finally realized it has a purpose. My goal is to store everything in the cloud, and I’m one step closer.

My del.icio.us thingy.
