Seth Godin is a Genius
When it was announced, I pre-ordered Godin’s new book Tribes.. I think Godin is brilliant, is writing is superb, and his blog is something I constantly Star or send to friends.
A few months ago when he launched his network Triiibes and sent out invites to people who had pre-ordered the book. I registered, but I’m not a social network fan and I haven’t participated. I just don’t have time for that nonsense right now no matter how much value it might add. In any case it was a good move on his part because lots of people did.
But the other day I got a package in the mail. Inside was his book, Tribes. It doesn’t get released until Oct. 16th. Inside was a letter thanking me for believing in it enough to pre-order it, and asking me to give away my copy when I receive it. Talk about changing the game. He presumably got the list of people who ordered it from Amazon and sent them all a copy.
Seriously, this guy needs to be listened to.
P.S. I’ve often thought about having him speak at my wedding. Now that would be awesome.
