If you ever do want a little exploration, i recommend, tikal guatemala. They have some plush *'ed hotels around there as well. It would make for a great two day trip, while in the central america area. roatan honduras is also a great place to relax. i have never been to cancun, so I can't slam it, i have only heard things about it... i will say it is quite a ways north of the equator though. si quiere estar en el ecuador, vaya a ecuador, puerta cayo, salinas, galapagos... good point.
