I’ve had a humidor since I can remember. I don’t smoke cigarettes, but I enjoy a cigar every once in a while. Like wine, I always buy one to smoke and at least one more to save. As a result over the years I’ve built up a bit of a collection of cigars. The only problem is my humidor has never done a good job of maintaining the 65% RH necessary to keep cigars at their prime. A humidor isn’t something you can constantly open and check on, and I have forgotten for months at a time to remember to check the humidifier. Recently I had been checking consistently and noticed that no matter what I couldn’t bring the humidity up. I’m sure it doesn’t help that it is so dry in the winter here.
Anyway blah blah blah. Out of the blue a friend of mine mentions these humidity beads to me. Wow. From the first day I put the tube in my humidor the RH has been steadily crawling up to 70% (going to let them sit at 70% for a couple months to re-humidify them). I’ve had to re-spray the tube with distilled water a few times because the humidor and the cigars are soaking up so much moisture but thats it! These things are the shit. If you have a humidor, and you don’t have humidity beads from Heartfelt: GET SOME.

David, if you are down to Bahamas, there are some nice hand-rolls as well as all the cuban varieties. There are a couple class places to smoke at as well. With the high humidity here, they stay nice and fresh all day long!
I’ll keep that in mind. Add another bullet point on the list of reasons to go to the Bahamas!
